Candle Box

A reproduction of a Colonial candle box.
This candle box is a fair reproduction of those used during Colonial times. The construction methods are consistent with the times. Since the finish work is done by hand, I have chosen to leave small indications of tool marks to give the box a 'well cared for antique' look. The tool marks are not significant, and they do add an authentic look to the piece.
With respect to the finish, you could choose a traditional oil and wax hand rubbed finish for a more utilitarian look or select the shellac and wax finish for a more stylish look. The oil and wax finish is my recipe containing 100% beeswax. The shellac finish is hand rubbed with steel wool to produce a satin sheen then waxed.
This box could be used to store candles, pencils and pens, sewing notions, and could serve many purposes in your house.
Note: Candles not included.
